Currently the Zone has 48 active partner organization with an outstanding loan book of 3.1 billion. The greater Masaka region is abreast with a diversity of business enterprises ranging from commercial to agriculture enterprises, agriculture being dominant. The zone covers 8 districts of greater Masaka including the island district of Kalangala (Ssese) district where fishing is the main activity, Rakai, Lwengo, Bukomansimbi, Kalungu, Masaka predominantly agricultural practicing and key business centre and animal keeping districts of Lyantonde and Ssembabule.

REFERENCE SACCOs
MSC services are delivered through twelve Zonal offices across the country. Each Zonal office covers a cluster of districts. In order to improve access to information, MSC entered into an understanding with 61 SACCOs) across the country to be reference points for MSC services and related information. The SACCOs also receive feedback to related to services and products and relay it to MSC. They also provide technical assistance and share good practice to support weak SACCOs.

KAGAMBA DDWANIRO SACCO

Kagamba Ddwaniro SACCO is a Savings and Credit Cooperative Society which is located at Kagamba trading Centre, Rakai District. The SACCO started its operations in 2007 with 82 members. Its Membership is from the parishes of Kasankala, Kimuli, Lwabokooba, Kagamba and Kayonza in Ddwaniro Sub County. The SACCO accessed its first loan from MSC of shs 30, 000,000 in 2009 and has received a total of 5 loans amounting to shs. 290M.The loans have helped the SACCO realize an increase in the value of savings, loan portfolio, share capital and a growth in membership. The SACCO has maintained 100% loan repayment to MSC.

MSC has offered both onsite and offsite technical assistance to the SACCO Staff and Board members in record keeping, report writing, loan management and SACCO governance. From the technical assistance offered, the SACCO is able to prepare better reports has, improved in record management, governance practices, loan tracking, client loan appraisals, adherence to statutory obligations for example audits are done on time and Annual General Meetings held on time. Between 2011 and 2014, the SACCO bought two plots of land, built its own office premises. It has acquired two field motor cycles, three sets of computers and operates MTN mobile money as an additional income generating activity. Seen below is the SACCO building that accommodates the banking hall, Manager's Office and Loan section.









KITUUFU FARMTEX ENTERPRISE LTD

Kituufu Farmtex Enterprise LTD is a Company limited by shares located in Masaka municipality at Buterera village, Masaka District registered in 2009It is owned by two directors and three shareholders. It mainly deals in poultry farming and also nursery beds of different fruits and coffee. The company has grown from 500 birds as at 1993 to 30,000 birds as at June 2015. The company has so far accessed five loans from MSC totaling to 530, 000,000 shillings. All the loans have been repaid on time without any difficulties. The company currently employs 14 permanent works and 10 causal workers. The company has benefited from technical support under the Business Development Services interventions provided by MSC. This has resulted into improved record keeping.
